do you beli?

do you beli?

Ok, so here’s the thing: we’re big on lists. This isn’t going to come as a surprise to anyone who is a Burgerists regular, but if you’re new around here, we like lists.

So, when my brother sent me a link to Beli, I was intrigued.

Now, about a week in (and being ranked in the Top 20 of users)… I’m obsessed. This app is incredible.

So the tl;dr — you (quickly) rank the restaurants you’ve been to and your favorite (or not so favorite) things about them, share them with your friends, and keep a running list of the restaurants you want to go to.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting in two ways.

Using the inputs of you and your friends, Beli offers up recommendations (based on location and taste). Beli also gives you the ability to make reservations or order through deep link integrations with OpenTable, Doordash, Caviar, et. al.

It’s dead simple.

This obviously works well in big cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc.

But what about a relatively late-to-social area like Marco Island, Florida?

Turns out… there are a few learning curves for Beli. But not many.

It looked like I was the first user in the area, but as soon as I rated the first restaurant in the area (in this case, a dive restaurant that won’t show up on this site anytime soon), recommendations started to populate.

Dope.

This post is nothing more than a PSA to sign up for Beli (read: it’s not sponsored by the Beli people). It’s currently invite only, so you need to know someone, or know someone who knows someone, but should you find yourself on the platform, give us a follow (I’m on there @rishibando).
